Head teacher Ian Tett commented “This year’s results represent the first wave of substantial changes to courses and exam units, including the removal of coursework in English and Maths and their new 9-1 grading system.  Reports in the national press state that this has been the most academically challenging set of exams since the 1980’s.  However, results for Oakgrove indicate that is one of the best set of results in the school’s 12 year history.  Attainment in virtually every subject has increased, with particularly strong results in EBACC subjects such as Maths, the Sciences, French, History and Geography.  Achievements in the creative subjects were a particular highlight with 100% of students gaining an A*-C in GCSE Photography and over 83% for Art.  Many students will now continue their academic journey by staying at the school’s 6th form.”
